And now for the moment we've all been waiting for...

Or at the very least me. Finally the time has come for Sophie to finally decide to stop teasing me and call me dada. As I'm sure you all probably know she has been able to say mama for months now but no matter how much I begged, pleaded, or bribed, she still refused to say dada. For about the last month I have a sneaking suspicion that she has been sneaking it out whenever I haven't been paying full attention. In the middle of a phone call for example, or while I'm talking to Andi. Then whenever I stop what I'm doing to see if she would say it again I would receive nothing but silence. She had to have been doing it on purpose. I know it. But when I least expected her she came crawling across the floor, eyes on me, grin on face, saying dada dada dada. then when I swooped her up in my arms she gave me a great big hug then turned and was ready to be on her merry way again. These are the moments that make my heart glad to be a dad.

Andy has been saying Dada for a long time now but still hasn't said mama. I know one day he will until then I just have to watch his signs.

I am so happy for you Big Guy to be able to hear her express such love for you!!!

It's really neat to read a dad's perspective...One day when Sophie is all grown up, she'll read this post and know exactly how her daddy felt about her. What a treasure!!

i think maybe she was just trying to make it more dramatic by waiting until very close to father's day.

what music it must be to your ears!
