The D Word

That's right... I am on a diet. The first one I have ever been on. Probably not the last one I will ever be on. I'm all about honesty here, so I'm going to tell you that I weighed 185 before I got pregnant. I went up to 204 with Keegan, and after I had him went back down to 185. But I still have some weight to lose to get back into a healthy range, which for a large frame is 149-170. I'm going for 165. Since I started I have lost 7 pounds, so I now weigh 179. I haven't been in the 170's for a while, so I am already excited.

My goal is to be done within a year with a total weight loss of 20 pounds. That's doable... right?! So far the hardest thing has been not eating chocolate. I never realized how much of it I ate until now. I miss it. I want it right now. And now. And now. Jeez this is hard. Some of you all have to be in the diet boat with me... how are you doing?

I've given up Chocolate too Andi! Yeah it's hard but we'll be healthier right? I'm not suppose to have it anyway. I would like to get down to 160 but that's a ways away.

Awww Andi! I would totally hop on board with you on this one, but well... I am pregnant. No dieting for me. Maybe afterwards I can get some encouragement from you as I will give to you from now forth that maybe I could get into a healthy range. I haven't been in a healthy range in years. Wow, that sounds like fun. Ha, we'll see. Best of luck. I am praying for you. Oh, and giving up chocolate isn't hard for me, I am sorry to say. I don't like the stuff anyways. lol Although, I am pretty sure that the baby doesn't like cake. I get sick after eating it every time.

P.S. Thank you so much for coming and praying with me on Sunday. That meant a lot to me. =)

Andi - the diet boat is never easy. But you've set a super goal for yourself. And it's very attainable. I finally got my rear in gear about 4 months ago... then of course I found out a month ago that I am pregnant. But my midwife cleared me to follow Weight Watchers nursing points while pregnant. I can't say I'm following it exactly but my goal is to stay in control of food while pregnant instead of just eating whatever/whenever I want. Because if I do that, it'll make it easier to get back on track losing after baby is born. My goal is to gain a max of 10 lbs this pregnancy which is fine and healthy for me. And I'm leaving it all for the 3rd trimester when baby actually gains! :D With that, I *should* be ahead of the game after this little one comes along. Best wishes as you work hard! I know you can do it!

Hey girly girl --

I'm sure you know that I'm on the 'boat' with you! And hopefully the DVD I let you borrow helps make exercising fun (in oh, so many ways!) I have so far lost 6 lbs. And while it seems so few, I can't help but to be a litle bit excited too! The only thing I'm being very strict about is my soda intake...as in I'm not allowed to have ANY. WATER WATER WATER. And I'm cutting back on portions and carbs. I now work out 6-7 times a week for 50 minutes at a time. I'm always lookin' for ways to keep myself motivated. Knowing that a friend is doing it too certainly helps! Good luck, you're doing wonderfully!
