Shots
Today both Keegan AND Sophie got their vaccinations done. I hate vaccinations. I am always terrified that something will go wrong. I hate the little information sheet they give you because I am always drawn to the "very rare reaction" section and slowly convince myself that all the things on that list will occur to my children, perhaps simultaneously, and then I cry. I've got a little too much drama in my blood for my own good. So I put on my big girl panties and took the kids anyway. ( I hate the word panties, but there I just said it again. Panties, Panties, panties. It gets easier.) The kids did great, they both cried a little, I cried a little more, Sophie got a sucker and Keegan got a free high five and we muddled through it together. Mom went with me for moral support (Whose support? My support, I'm pathetic, I know).
Mom and I both got Tetnus shot updates, which they are recommending for everyone who cares for a child under 12 months old. The new shots have a Pertussus vaccine in them so that we can't pass whooping cough to the baby, and the new ones are not nearly as painful. Mom took a little convincing, but she got one in the end. First she had to watch me get mine and study my face to see if I winced or not. Needless to say, we survived and now she has Sophie off at the McDonald's Play Place and Little Man went to work with me. Later we are accompaining them on their big outing to ride the escalators. Do we know how to party or what?
