The Diet Update

I haven't updated in a while on how my diet is progressing. Let's recap:

I started out at 195 pounds after the baby was born. My initial goal was to lose 20 pounds in one year. Today I weighed 171 with my clothes on, so subtracting 2 pounds for clothes (it's still cold here) brings my total weight loss so far to 26 pounds. I have dropped two pants sizes and have gone from XL t-shirts to medium or larges. In fact, I wore my pants that I used to fit in out to play in the snow with two pairs of sweatpants on under them! Today my friend at church told me that my butt looked smaller all the time, and she immediately became my favorite friend of the day! My BMI is in a healthy range for the first time in YEARS (25%). I am, in short, way excited.

My new goal is 155, which is what I weighed my junior year of high school. This will take my BMI to 22.9%. Then I will be done. I'm not sure how long this will take, I seem to be hitting plateaus more and more, but I still have many, many months for my initial goal so I'm not in a rush. I can do this. Really, I know I can!

Yahoo!!! I am so glad you are doing so well with your diet. I am hoping after the baby is born to start getting my body into better shape than I was before he was here. We'll see how that goes. I am so sorry I missed your roller derby last night. I forgot all about it. :(

Wow that's great! The derby's gotta be helping in this area and you love the derby so it's a win-win. Very cool.
