Sometimes a good idea gets out of hand
Like when my mom suggested that I do something to keep busy while Jacob was gone. So I made a list of some things to do this summer starting with weed the front flower beds. Well apparently I really needed some distraction because I ended up completely redoing the front beds, bricking in a two new beds. mulching everything in the front and back, trimming all the bushes and trees, planting a vegetable garden, tearing out an old bed and planting grass, transplanting plants into the new beds... get the picture. So Jacob came home to an entirely relandscaped house. He was very surprised and I was very tired, but had stayed busy enough that I only cried once all week. I'm sure a lot of that was because of your prayers, so thank you for those. Mom watched the kids for me a lot this week so I could work, and little Jacob came and helped me. Tonight he is coming over to spend the night and we'll go see the new Indiana Jones movie tomorrow. He's a big helper.
Keegan was a little sick on Wednesday, puking and out of sorts. He's still doing well in the bedtime department (well, within reason) but has suddenly decided that he really doesn't need to nap. I disagree, but he seems to be winning this argument for the moment.
We were all thrilled to see Jacob again, I even managed to lift my aching arms enough to hug him. We had a lovely weekend together and now he is off again for another week. He likes it well enough, but says it is a big adjustment getting used to all the military-ness of it. ( I think I just made up a word!) He has already lost a bit of weight, due in part to the crappy food and the rest to push ups, and lots of them.
This week we are going to go to my dads for a few days to hang out and swim. We are pretty excited and hope that it makes the time go by faster until Jacob gets back home to us.
I'll post pictures of the flower beds later. Unfortunately I don't have before pictures since I didn't know I was going to do so much. I went a little crazy I think. But just imagine a tangle of weeds and kudzu vine and you'll get the idea.

I am so glad you kept yourself busy. I kinda wish I had a yard sometimes so I could work at doing some of that stuff too. Maybe someday...
Glad your time with Jacob was fun. Praying for you that things go well til he is back home again.
Wow, I wish I had all that motivation and energy! I can't wait to see the pictures.
I'm glad your first week was at least manageable and I hope the next ones are, too.
