I'm too sad to even say I told you so

Today one of our fish, the fish I was terrified to purchase in case something like this would happen, the situation I have dreaded since their arrival, today our fish, Odie, died. And of course I cried. His obituary is listed below.

Odie
Last week- This week

On July 27th Odie the Goldfish died after a short but apparently pretty intense illness. Odie was born in a Wal-Mart store in Indiana. After a few short weeks of life he was adopted by Andi, who knowing in her soul that this was a special needs adoption and that he probably wouldn't make it, adopted him anyway because out of all the fish in the tank... HE was the one that Fish Lady Linda scooped out with the green net o' doom.

Odie is survived by his adopted family: Parents Jacob and Andi, Siblings Sophie, Keegan, Nermal the Black Fantail and Jon the Scum Sucker. (This isn't a slam, he is after all a scum sucker.)

Services were held in the bathroom, in secret, so that Sophie wouldn't figure out that Odie was AWOL. Memorial contributions can be made to the parents of Odie who will use the money to buy a fish that looks JUST LIKE Odie, not only as a tribute to his short life but also to convince Sophie that Odie never died.

The bereaved may leave comments about his life if they so wish.

This is the first time I've ever laughed at an obituary.

Err... I mean, I'm very sorry for your loss.

Odie was the best grandfish I ever had. I'll miss the way he swam around and around and around and around aimlessly in circles in that tiny circle fishbowl.

I think he was OCD come to think of it.

Although I never met Odie I know he will be greatly missed. Just remember that all water leads to the ocean. Be free and swim, Odie!!!!

I love your naming conventions, just as long as the next scum sucker isn't named Pooky. :)
