Why, you may ask....

would anyone knowingly subject themselves to something that could cause this to happen?
Answer: I am having a GREAT time! I know it seems weird, but really, I love it. Every sore muscle, every aching joint, every massive bruise just reminds me that earlier in the week I kicked the snot out of someone, and that, my friends, is cheaper than therapy.

I do get a fair amount of grief over my new hobby, mostly centering around the fact that I am a mother and what would I do if something happened to me. I get that, really I do. But I also get that I only live once. One stinking life to get SO MUCH DONE. So when I get an opportunity to do something once in a lifetime, you can bet that I'll be up for it. When I get to heaven I thoroughly intend to be one worn out body with as little regret as possible!

PS: The picture shows my pasty legs, and I am truly sorry for subjecting you to that. Also, it's not as far up on my leg as it looks like in the picture.

PSS: It hurts.

Hi - I'm glad your having fun. It sounds like a blast. I get bruises (just as bad as those) by falling. Which is no fun at all.
Also when you tell someone about them - they look at you like your just a clumsy person. Not like a Roller Derby Warrior.

When people remind you of being a mother - remind them that you know it. So many parents go the wrong way in having fun, drugs, alchol, cheating on their partner, etc. which ends up hurting their children. I think you are a positive role model. Instead of being depressed over what you did the night before, you know that what you did is just fun & bring that joy home with you.

love ya
