At least it wasn't a tarantula.

When Jacob woke up the other day he told me that the night before he had a weird feeling his shoe for the first part of the night. It bothered him and bothered him until he finally went to the police department to see if he could figure out what was going on. It didn't take long to spot the problem. It seems a certain little girl had deposited her chewed gum into Daddy's work boot. It also seems that gum that has been ground into the insole of a shoe doesn't want to come up very easily. He finally got all the gum out of his shoe, but had to cut a hole in his sock around the gum.

I tried not to laugh, but when he said he could just picture her walking up to his shoe, looking around and then sticking her gum in there, I cracked up. And so did he. A sense of humor goes a long way in the world of parenting.
