Prayers for Keegan.... Again

Keegan has never been much like his sister, even health-wise. Sophie is rarely sick whereas Keegan has always been a bit more.... delicate. So naturally when we all got the same cold last week, Sophie and Jacob got over it first, I still have it and Keegan's turned into something worse.

After a trip to the er last night because Keegan wasn't breathing correctly we found out he has asthma, bronchitis and pneumonia in his right lung. The doctor allowed us to return home since Momma has a nebulizer we could use to give him breathing treatments at home, otherwise we would have landed right back in the hospital. I'm glad Mom went with me because we had to give him two treatments before we could even leave the hospital and number one: I had no idea what I was doing and number two: for a delicate little thing Keegan is STRONG and number three: it was good to have the moral support, because it's never easy to hold down your screaming child and force him to do something he doesn't want to do.

He is on several medications and has to have breathing treatments every six hours around the clock. This is going to be difficult because the treatments really wire him up, and the last thing a tired Momma wants at 1:oo in the morning is a jazzed up kid. Today his breathing already seems much less burdened so I am certain the treatments are working, and I have found that if I just nurse him and hold the mask near his face he has no choice but to inhale the medicine, so that works pretty well.

Please pray that my happy boy can get to feeling better soon. And if you don't mind throw a few in for me to feel better as well so that I can better care for him.

Prayers said for both of you!

Mr. Bill has some form of asthma that makes him cough till he throws up EVERY SINGLE TIME he gets even a simple cold. It is hard on him and me too. So I feel for you.

I hope Keegan is feeling better very soon!

Andi,
If he continues to get wired, call your doc and see if they will change the treatments. There are a couple different types of nebulizers and one might be less "wiring" than the other. It would hurt to ask.
Hope everyone is feeling better soon!
