Daddy Day
We spent the day with my dad who lives about an hour away. We went out last night and spent the night so we could see him more since we had to leave around three to get Jacob home in time to leave. I was hesitant about missing church since I have missed so many Wednesday nights being out of town, including this Wednesday coming up. I'm glad we did though, otherwise we would only have been there about three hours and that's not much of a visit.
Earlier in the year we got Jacob a trolling motor for his tiny boat for his gift so that was taken care of already, leaving today just to hang out and enjoy each other's company. We swam all day and he played and played with the kids.
Jacob's dad died when he was only 7. His mom remarried to have his step-dad die when he was 16. I wish they were both here today to see what kind of a dad he is. I know they would be proud of him.
Thank you for being the kind of man that is easy to respect and love. Happy Father's Day.

I think he's a wonderful dad. We are certainly blessed to have him in our family.

Happy Father's Day to Jacob! I'm so sad to read about his own dad and step dad's passing when he was so young. That just breaks my heart!
